If you want to play it in the same octave as written you MUST transpose down
a PERFECT 4th from the WRITTEN F horn part to Bb flugel.
If the original F horn part is in the key of F, then you will play in the
key of C. All accidentals will affect the transposed note in the same way.
So, if the accident raises the original note a half step it will do the same
for the transposed note. As a check you can just go down a perfect 4th from
the original note.
To transpose the key simply take the key note name of the original part and
go down a perfect 4th to get to the key note name of the flugal key.
F will be C
Bb will be F
Eb will be Bb
Ab will be Eb
A will be E
Hope this helps you.
