The *need* to put down? What kind of mind-reading goofiness is that? Geeze,
the guy asks a question and it's a put down against small mouthpieces and by
extension its successful users? C'mon Mike, believe it or not it's not always
all about you. Let it go for once.
To address the poster's question - yeah - I get what you're talking about. I
was determined to move from a Bach 1.5C to something smaller to get a brighter
sound for lead work (this was mebbe ten years ago). I went to a 13a4a and then
14a4, cos I really liked the Schilke cushioned rim, but could not get a note
out after more than two minutes of playing. After fussing, cussing and
thinking I flat couldn't play any more, I tried using a *lot* less pressure and
it finally worked. It took five months. I finally settled on a 15a4a (still
looking to explore a larger backbore), which I use for just about everything
(occasionally fool with a Stork 2E+, just for fun).
