It is always interesting to hear how people evaluate mouthpieces on their own needs and experiences and assume that everyone has the same feelings about a mouthpiece. I played a 13A4a for a while for Jazz Band and loved it. It worked very well for me. I did not like the 14A4a.  I have a friend who plays a 6A4a and gets a big, beautiful sound. It does not work for me. However, it works extremely well for my friend.

Though, I had been using the Schilke for Jazz band I had been using a GR 65C** or a 65M for concert band. I recently began using a GR65SZ for Jazz band. It works well for me and keeps me using a similar rim for all my mouthpieces. These mouthpieces work for me but that doesn't mean they are the right combination for anyone else.
