[TPIN] Solotone mute?

To my internet friend Greg, John, and all:

I much prefer the solotone or cleartone made by or for Walt Johnson.  Better sound and intonation both, but I thought I heard they may have been discontinued.  That being said, you might check with Steve Dillard at:

Steve had them in stock at one time.  I got mine from him and I wish I had more of a chance to play it.  I use it on old swing tunes in my big band, and it sounds great on a microphone.  I am not quite as impressed with their harmon mute, but that is a nice mute as well.   I gave my Humes and Berg to a friend who needed it in a hurry for a show because I thought the Walt Johnson was a much better mute!
