Does anyone prefer Wynton's version?
Just curious.



I prefer Don Smithers' version for Sunday Morning's opening; it could hardly
be considered less than perfect. Doc does not sound particularly good on the
piccolo trumpet. He should have played it on his Bb, or even on the cornet,
which he plays excellently. I don't know what CBS was thinking about when
they replaced Smithers' version or when they replaced Doc's version with
that odd (to say the least) version by Wynton.
