[TPIN] Solotone mute?

Giardinelli also made a metal solotone years ago that had a distinctive "old
timey" sound.

Not sure if they're still available.

I'm playing lead tpt in the pit orchestra for Thoroughly Modern Millie 
and came across the need for a solotone mute--what exactly is this? Is 
it similar to a straight mute? Thanks!
