[TPIN] 20 Greatest Jazz Trumpet Players of All Time

Jon Faddis did a special on Sirius Radio today which listed the 20 greatest jazz trumpeters of all time.  The list includes many of the obvious, but I was shocked that Chet Baker did not make the list, neither did Blue Mitchell, Al Hirt, Maynard Ferguson, or Arturo Sandoval.

What really steamed me was that Faddis listed Wynton Marsalis and Nicholas Payton.  What is this guy thinking?  These guys are great players, but I don't think they have earned their place in history yet, nor do I think they would be listed at the exclusion of some really great historical players that were left out.  I listened to the entire 90 minute show where each name was given and then a tune played from that artist.  I just can't believe some of the names not on the list, this was just terrible!
