Greetings, listmates!

I started looking at Jon's post and thought that maybe a great list would be the "Best trumpet players you never heard of".  And growing up in Vegas(instead of small-town North Dakota like me) and some of the other big cities where trumpet players worked and played, I would guess that some of you could really have some great stories about great players that we have not heard of.  Miles Davis used to talk of Freddie Webster and his sound, but finding recordings of him are almost impossible and really expensive to say the least.  Of course recordings of that day would probably not do his sound justice.  

Just an idea and would anxiously await and stories and names.  And, by the way, my goal in life as a record collector is to have everything that Lee Morgan ever played on.  Getting pretty close at this point......guess you know who my Top 20 list would probably start with!
