David -- there was a switch in Bach S/Ns, somewhere
along the way, from printing them horizontally on the
leadpipe side of the valve to vertically on the other
side -- I'm not sure when.

If the slides really are interchangeable you might not
really have an L there.  But the difference between
.459 and .462 is pretty small -- I think the best test
would be if the slide from the L fits in the MLs -- it
shouldn't.

But that said, .462 really doesn't count as a Large
bore today's trumpet world.  If you really want to try
a Large bore, go get a Schilke X4, a Wild Thing, a
Holton MF, or something else up in the .468-.470
range.
