[TPIN] Age of Benge horn

I have a 16407 serial number Benge trumpet that I purchased new in 1973. I am looking at a 197XX serial number MLP horn as a horn for a student. 

Questions  -- 

any idea what the age is of this? I'd guess 1974- or 1975 but I have no idea how many horns were made in a years time back in the 70's

What is the difference in a ML and MLP?? hat are the differences in the way the MLP plays versus the ML? This horn has a "3" on the bell and MLP on the 2nd valve.  My  16407 horn has ML on the 2nd valve, and no marking on the Bell.
