Wilmer and mates,
Gordon Stump, President of the Detroit Local(also a trpt player, former Buddy Rich Band and freelance player requisite trumpet content)has been working on digging up old Motown dates, contracts, and such and getting unpaid residuals for many old Motown musicians. A lot of money has been made off of the backs of those great musicians, many of whom have struggled financially over the years. God Bless Gordie, the Union, and all those great old musicians who are deserving of being compensated for their work and their value.
By the way, I should turn on some guys who weren't around when "Standing in The Shadows of Motown" came out and encourage any folks who havent' seen the DVD to get it and see the story of the real backup musicians that made Motown. My old teacher was one of the trumpet players that played many of those old dates. It is a great story with lots of really fine music and great history in it.
glenn, proud to be from Motown, bengry
