When the question came up about the flourographs John Haynie did
I emailed Morris Martin at The University of North Texas and this was
his reply.

Hey everyone! Yes, we tried, but we have been unable to find a
working original machine on which to play the originals. Various
attempts have
been made over the years, not just by us. John is still interested in
getting
it done, and we have been working with someone at a commercial company
which
specializes in saving odd formats. We will, of course, be pleased to
announce
success if we achieve it. The short answer is that we are still
working on it
with hope.
Best wishes,
Morris Martin

Yes. When I was grad student there I often used these in my brass
methods class. The x-rays themselves were on 8mm film (as I recall)
and the accompanying sound was on 3" reel to reel tapes. I had to try
and synchronize them by hand. Last I heard the NTU library was going
to try and combine these on VHS or something. Have no idea if that
proceeded or not.
