Mike, I thought this was a great excerpt!... I hope you find time to complete your book so I can buy it! (it'd be a great general read too if you include a few anecdotes from your experiences to illustrate points too!)
on an slightly related note, regarding the Hession thread... no disrespect to Patrick because I do understand where he's coming from and the need to say it (though perhaps not the tone!)... but I'm sure we could all take Mike's (and several others) helpful, informative and entertaining contributions on TPIN as a benchmark for how to deal with fellow luminaries, professionals and students alike!... I know Mike answered a random email from me about a Getzen cornet a year-or-so ago for which I probably never said a proper thank you!
