[TPIN] Wynton

My wife suprised me with tickets to Wyton and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra last Thursday night at the Orange Co (CA) Performing Arts Center.  I knew she was keeper when she surprised me while we were dating with tickets to Stan Kenton in 1978 at the old Ambassador Hotel in L.A.  Anyway, what a great concert.  She purchased the tickets late so the only thing left was front row Choir loft seats behind the band.  I was less than 20 feet from the trumpet section and to the side.  I had a great view of Ryan Kysor, Steve Jones and a great player that I can't recall right now (sorry, age is a terrible thing) and Wynton.  Several times Wyton turned around and played his solo to us.  It was great!  All of those guys were great.  They played an all Ellington concert, with alot of things I've never heard.  It was wonderful.  If they come to a town near you, you really need to go hear them.
