I agree. My daughter and I went to hear Wynton & LCJO at Johns Hopkins
Univ in Baltimore a couple months ago. They were outstanding. Half the
show was Coltrane (Alabama brought tears on the bari's solo), the other
half a series of pieces based on colors written by one of the tenor
players. Wyntons trumpet section was Ryan Kisor, Marcus Printup and
Sean Jones (?). For the finale, Wynton brought up an old jazz blues
pianist (didn't catch the name) and while he played, Wynton led a line
around the stage, improvising as he went. The cat can swing and
entertain. Wonderful stories between tunes.
