I recently bought a Warburton cup because the specs sounded close to the
mouthpiece I play and I wanted to be able to adjust the blow for different
situations and horns with various backbores.
I liked the comfort and I played it on a church gig with a smaller backbore
from my collection from years past with good sucess. (This is on my German
Destino.) I was experimenting with other backbores when I came across a #7.
WOW!!! I thought the horn was 'hot' before but this made it resonate like
never before. I was playing lead in a large hall on a big band gig Saturday
and could hear my sound bouncing back off the walls and all around me great.
The strange thing was on the break all the other horn players I talked to
were complaining about how "DEAD" the room was???
The sound was big, but not spread
I played it the next night in a loud rock rehersal with the same results.
Also, plenty of center and core to the sound.
Any stories from other Warburton players out there?
