I have played a Warburton 4MC top, with a 8* backbore for many years. I have
used it for concert band, orchestral work, brass quintet playing, shows, you
name it, and have always felt it to be the most comfortable trumpet mouthpiece
that I have ever played on.
I do own 4MD and a 4EMC(a special order top suggested to me in a telephone
call to Warburton, to help with the high register and endurance with demanding
playing) top, along with a #7 backbore.
I have found Warburton to be a top notch company, always willing to help the
player to refine their equipment.
The cost of the equipment has gone up over the years. When I ordered my first
4MC top, I thought for the $45 that I would get the entire mouthpiece. I was
quite surprised to get a small box in the mail with only the top included. It
took another $40 to get the bottom! Now, I know, the price is much higher.
It's a great mouthpiece though, one that compares well with other more well
known company's best products.
Play well!
