I recently took my favorite rim/cup, a Reeves Purviance 9, and sent it to Warburton to have the shank cut off and have Warburton threads cut so that I could start experimenting with the Warburton backbores. The #5 backbore with that cup is fantastic in my Yamaha 8310z! I did this at the suggestion of my old trumpet teacher from back in the '70's when I lived in Atlanta, George Rawlin. BTW, he put up a website where he posted a whole bunch of testing he did with the Warburton mpc's. He also has a lot of other great stuff on his site. I know many of you would consider much of his stuff posted on the site to be voodoo, the kind of stuff that starts flame wars, but look at his list of gigs and listen to him play before firing your flamethrowers :^). Here's the site:

Have fun,
Chris
