  The chat room is an interesting place to hang out, and people
  come and go as they have time.
   
  The discussions are opinionate, in a big way, and this is generally
  a good thing, as it seems the most likely way to learn something
  new is to bump up against the limitations of what you think you already know
  and have someone rebutt your idea or offer something different to consider.
   
  The language gets more coarse than I'd like, but if you can deal with
  some of the "sailor's" language, you can learn quite a bit.

Next, the room is now 18+ only. This was done because the chatroom is
unmoderated, for the *most* part. It's a place where adults can come and
hang out, and when teens or even younger kids come in it changes the vibe in
the room.
Having said that, the room isn't a raunchy place. You basically get out of
it what you put in....act maturely and you'll make some great friendships.
Act like a jerk - you'll get treated like one, and then get your butt
bounced from the room.
