[TPIN] RE: Pedal Tones Can't Slot...

I've always been curious about the physics behind this: Why are the 
initial "slotted" pedals (first pedeal C down to F#) so inherently flat on Bb 
Trumpets?  (i.e., what's going on with the vibrations/nodal points in the 
horn - or otherwise - that cause this characteristic on a Bb Trumpet?)
