[TPIN] Pedal Tones Are Useless?

There was also another post earlier today that pointed out literature using 
pedals.  (Purdle?)

And once again, I recommend listening to McNab's "exquisite" for an 
application of pedals in performance.  While it isn't "necessary" for his 
cadenza in a musical sense (what *is*?)... his use of pedals amidst all the 
other playing, confirms total mastery of the instrument... and isn't that the 
whole point of such an exposition?

Finally... too many great players and teachers, from Herseth, to Herbert 
Clarke and Gordon, have recommended pedals in one form or fashion to ignore 
them, or write them off as "useless".
