You sir, are an imbecile!  Just kidding.

For many people pedal tones are useless.  Some people simply don't
need to do them, other people don't know why you do them or what they
are useful for.  I do pedal tones during every practice session,
because for me it helps to adjust my embouchure to the most efficient
position.  I do not do them to loosen up, or to increase blood flow.
I flutter my lips for that.

People with a certain type of embouchure inefficiency would benefit
from the proper use of pedal tones.  This type of person seems to be
one who doesn't have the proper support of the bottom lip.  The
CORRECT use of pedal tones can help to correct that.
