[TPIN] 60 year old NY Bach

I had a senior citizen come to me yesterday looking for answers on how
to gain more endurance. Of course I gave him advice and noted that there
are no short cuts.

He showed up with a March 1948 NY Bach trumpet that his father had
bought for $ 248.00 he still had the price tag and other original
papers.
The horn was in excellent condition and he said every time he shows it
to teachers like me or any pro they always want to buy it. 
He did have it overhauled back in 1961 just basically having it
re-lacquered.
It looks to have a couple spots of red rot on lead pipe and tuning
crook.
It played beautiful, very responsive, well centered pitches.
I think this is the oldest Bach I have ever seen.
