I think you saw one testimonial here about a horn that
went uncleaned for years where the bore looked like my
arteries.  ;-)

When you consider that the difference between a medium
and extra-large bore is somewhere between .004 - .008
inches it doesn't take much build up of gunk to change
the horn's character.

Food particles can lead to growth of acid producing
bacteria that can lead to red-rot on the tubing.  This
can eventually lead to perforation.
