This from NIH "Heart failure is a condition in which the heart can't pump enough blood throughout the body. Heart failure does not mean that your heart has stopped or is about to stop working. It means that your heart is not able to pump blood the way it should."

What I call a bit of heart failure is monkeying around with that precious pump so that it doesn't pump as hard as it used to, or the way it should. That's why the beta blockers may leave you with fatigue. I am not trying to start an argument, just a word of caution to trumpet players. I am not shooting from the dark on this I have discussed it thoroughly with my wife's cardiologist and internist, and we don't use beta blockers any more.
