OK, all this talk about Maurice Andre has prompted me to pull out this CD and
  listen to it again:

  Oh Man, what a sound!
   
  A lot of this music is straightforward Baroque.  Andre's sound is so full and unforced
  that it makes the music soothing and exciting at the same time, if that's possible.
  That album was definitely recorded at the peak of his powers.  It also explains in part why
  so few trumpet & organ albums are put out by major artists today:  Would you want to
  be compared to Andre?  [Ouch!]
   
  Really enjoyable music making.
