[TPIN] ADMIN: List Manners - THE SEQUAL

My word... I wake up this morning and almost every message posted since last
night doesn't follow the requests of my recent admin message. Someone even
included an entire digest to tell us to suck our butts up when we play. Then
another member includes an entire Mike Vax post to say "Amen Mike!" Two
strikes on that one..

For those of you who obviously missed it, please read the original message I
sent just two days ago which is included below. Can we go a few days before
forgetting these simple requests?

When you hit the "reply all" button on tpin ask yourself these questions.

1. do I really need to reply all or is what I have to say better to just go
to the original poster?

2. Is what I have to say a significant contribution to the discussion or is
it a "Me too" or a "great post" or an "amen brother" post which is worthless
to the discussion and adds nothing to the content of the list?

3. Finally, before hitting send have I trimmed all but a few lines of the
included text or perhaps all of the included text? Have I trimmed the
footers from the included text? Sometimes those footers multiply and take up
a huge amount of space.

I go back to teaching in a couple of days and will not have time to check
this stuff and send private emails around asking people to be more careful.
So, this is it for awhile. Please be respectful of other list members and
follow these simple guidelines.

The TPIN member below took two complete messages to say "great story."
Everyone should do this sort of thing in private email in the future so that
you aren't reposting several messages just to say thanks or that you enjoyed
something. All reply posts to TPIN should contain something that contributes
to and continues the discussion. If you want to give kudos, either include
them as part of a post that has substance or send it to the original author
in private email.

All reply posts to TPIN should be EDITED so as to contain only the minimum
amount of included text. This is so that the many people who read the digest
don't have to plow through page after page of old text. ONLY include the
text that is absolutely critical to what you have to say. This only takes
seconds and will contribute a lot to our group.

Please be a good list member and stay on topic, don't post "me too" or
"thank you" messages and snip your included text when replying.
