Sad news this morning that Jeff Healey died yesterday.  
 
Jeff was best known as a blues guitarist, however, his first love was jazz.
 
He had a collection of 30,000 78 RPM records and had his own radio show in
CBC radio in Canada.
 
He played trumpet in his group, the Jazz Wizards.  The Wizards played music
from the 20's, 30's and 40's.
 
Jeff was blind as a result of a rare type of cancer, this cancer
unfortunately took his life at the age of 41.
 
I saw Jeff and the Jazz Wizards at the Kaslo Jazz Festival a couple of years
ago.  
 
Jeff was full of energy and enjoyed playing the music he loved.
 
He will be missed.
