I have an old Conn trumpet serial number 1540XX. By all sources, this is telling me that the horn was made in 1917 or 1918. The horn has no model number on it at all, and by my preliminary measurements here at home, my guess is that is a .459 bore. It has lovely flower engraving on it in gold leaf (I'm guessing) and the finish is kind of a rough silver finish (now black). I do have some pictures if any of you think they will be able to help me identify it by that. I am currently using the horn, in its tarnished form, for decoration, but I'm wondering if I have diamond in the rough here that maybe worth getting playing again. Any ideas?
