Well, folks, I have signed on to support Dave Harriosn's effort to get the word out about hs Wedge mouthpeices.

I have been playing Asymetrics for 8 years now, but while I recommend them highly, I have never had a studetn who could switch tio them. I feel a little freaky in that regard. I am NOT withdrawing my endorsement of the Asymmetrics. Rather am am no longer going to play them EXCLUSIVELY.

I have been looking for soemthing novel and unique to reccommend instead for folks who can't play the asymmetric. The Wedge fits the bill perfectly. Most folks can play them IMMEDIATELY. Also, they won't mess up your set. You can switch back and forth between your old moutpiece without any difficulty. Finally, the rims are incredilby cumfortable. Dave has a huge variety of sizes to choose from, too.

I've got two vids up, but these are both when I was just getting my feet wet. I'll be producing a new clip on a variety of horns with the Wedge in it.

Also, if you are from the Chicago area or will be in town on Sunday night, I'll be at Fitzgerald's with the Chicago Grandstand Big Band and tpin's own Mike Stewart. We play from 6:00 to 9:30 PM. This weekend it will be crowded, but the atmosphere is loose and comfortable. Feel free to drop by. I'll bring my entire Wedge collection with me.

I am going to organize a bit of a "trumpeters tupperware" party for these mouthpieces very soon. As soon as I can get a location squared away, I'll post when I get this ready.

Fitzgerald's is on Roosevelt Road between Harlem and Austin in Berwyn (near west 'burb).

Hope to see you there!
