Hello TPIN'ers

I have just bought a Bb silver plated cornet which seems to be in pretty
good nick. Good valves, easy blowing.

My first impression was that it is a student model, but now I'm not so sure.

It has WELTKLANG etched on the bell, which I believe is German for something
like World Noise.

Further away from the bell on the underside level with the valve cluster is
etched :Rudall Carte & Co. Ltd.

The only number I can find is near the bottom of the middle valve 721.

The website for this Company says it flourished in the 19th century making
world class flutes, which are still being used and are well thought of.

The Company was taken over by Boosey & Hawkes in 1955, and that is all I
know about it.

Does anybody out there have any more information on this cornet/Company.

Many thanks and regards,

Stan Cooper.
