I, too, echo Glenn's sentiments. Bill Moffitt was what most of my marching band experience was all about. I also taught drum corps for a number of years and the experience of using his arrangements as a high school student helped me put together more effective arrangements later on.
His arrangements were catchy, fun to listen to, easy to play for high school bands and very satisfying. My band director at the time, Jerry Boisen, had a national reputation and swore by the Soundpower Series. We even talked about it when I was taking Mus. Ed. at Berklee in the late seventies and very early eighties.
A whole generation of band musicians are better off because of Dr. Moffitt.

Paul,
So many of us were affected by Bill Moffit. I played dozens of his arrangements, and came of age during the SOUNDPOWER series doing pinwheels and about faces in my sleep. My entire high school experience was dominated by Bill Moffit's work. I can't tell you how many times I wailed on joshua in Pep Band.(100's of times) I can hear it like it was yesterday e ven though its been 35 years. God Bless the man for what he gave us.
