It can be done. My local orchestra regularly sells out a 2400 seat hall. Not
just for pops concerts with a big name artist either. Our last classics
concert which had no soloist almost sold out. At least 2000 people attended.
I do agree with you there nearly as many clubs offering live music
(particularly jazz) as there used to be, but live music isn't dead yet.
