Some guys will tell you that there is no difference in the sound. Some will tell you that the sound does warm up some. It definitely FEELS different on the chops. There is a certain softness and grip difference between gold and silver. I have three gold plated mpcs they were all that way when I bought them. I like all three of them. But since gold prices have gone through the roof, you'll likely pay a fair chunk to get a mpc plated. Unless you are allergic to gold, I don't see how you could NOT like the gold, but there is not some grand difference that would make you run out and get all your mouthpieces done in gold.
