[TPIN] Cold/canker sores and trumpet playing

I'm just getting back into playing after a 20+ year absence (wife/kids) and I remember that back in the day when I was playing a lot I'd get cold/canker sores multiple times per month. When I don't play, it's hardly ever. Anyone have any idea what it is about playing the trumpet that causes this? Remedies are appreciated as well.
