A CG (Claude Gordon) Benge is technically a large bore .468 bore (they're stamped with an L), but the section of the bell that comes out of the 1st valve is a .464 bore. Kind of like squeezing the hose so that the water comes out with more force. You'll sometimes see them referred to as .468/.464 trumpets. They are neither 6X nor 7X nor any-other-X. No model number is stamped on the bell.

Subject: [TPIN] BENGE QUESTION
So, if the Benge 6X is .468 and the 7X is .470, what size is the CG model?
I have a nice CG Benge that I am going to add to the list of horns for sale
on my web site, if anyone is interested.
