Hello everyone,
as I sit here watching my Maynard Ferguson Tribute DVD, I can't help but
notice that when they show older pictures of him playing he is using the
'traditional' left hand positioning on the horn. BUT I noticed on my Maynard
Ferguson "Live at the Top" he holds his trumpet with the left hand wrapped
around the bottom of the vale casing. Any ideas as to why he switched?

Not sure why he did it but for me, I've changed my hand possition from
time to time. Just kinda ends up going with whatever feels better at the
time. I know Faddis likes to change his hand position a lot. Dunno,
whatever works I guess.
